After going out on Friday with everybody - which was nice - I had a very relaxing Saturday. Didn't do much. Just read something and did this & that. Nice.
Today I am packed with energy again. Getting stuff done. Always cool. :)

Yay, I managed to see *four* Simpsons Episodes one day. :) Actually, I would have been able to see five, but the last one (at midnight) was a rerun from earlier that day. Great, isn't it? ;) As Comedy Network puts it "time well wasted". :)

The sun is shining and I can actually see it. :) This means that I am not sitting in The Cave aka our office, but rather work from home. Yeah, and I even get things done. :)
We had a nice BBQ last night at Sabine's and Doris' place. Took exactly one photo. ;)
Well, I should get back to my beloved IPsec project...

The weekend is nearly over and I feel very relaxed. Isn't that a good thing? Guess this is somewhat related to the fact that I didn't go out: neither on Friday nor on Saturday night.
I got stuff done. ;)
Been shopping on Saturday and bought myself some shirt and new shoes. Nice.
Beside that I had a bit of a fight with OpenOffice, but you will be glad to hear that your truely is the winner. ;) Now I can get started with the actual content of my thesis... *hurray* - NOT. ;)
Oh, I also saw some of the International Jazz Festival going on in Gastown. However, Jazz is just not my style of music. Maybe that changes at one point, but right now, I just don't understand it. :P Perhaps I should listen to some of Russ' CDs. (He's my landlord and a professional bass player for Jazz bands.)

HIMSA wasn't really that great last night. It was good to see some hardcore bands, but then again it wasn't the style of hardcore that I like.
Interesting though was that they were shooting some movie outside on Pender Street. The street was closed by police and it took them the whole night to film a taxi moving about four meters. ;)
Vancouver is North America's third largest film city after LA and NY. The X-Files was shot here and Sleepless in Seattle! :)
On the way home I took the FreakBus again. Line #8 is really the bus that is full of weirdos. Sometimes the FreakBus is fun, but last night sucked...

Uh well, HIMSA is on tonight. Everything was rather messed-up. The Straight says that they play tonight, but HIMSA's homepage says that they play on Friday... well, I will see *soon* as I head downtown now.
I even started my thesis... decided that I am going to write in English and not in German and set up some OpenOffice stuff to support me. Well.... it *is* a start... :-)

Last night we've been out for Mongolian BBQ all-you-can-eat. Was fun and yummy. :-)
It was Ute's last night in Vancouver, so she decided that we all go to the Roxy... although it was 80s Night. (Irgh.) Nah, it was nice to see everybody and rather sad to say goodbye to Ute. (Hallo, Ute. :-) )
Upcomming plans: seeing HIMSA live at the Pic Pub on Friday and finally start writing my graduation thesis. Exciting times. ;-)

Yes, I've been neglecting this blog a little. However, my real diary was updated 10th April or so for the last time... ;-)
First of all, congrats to James & Veronica: their first baby, a little girl, was born.
As it was three weeks early it caused a little chaos at FatPort, but it will be fine. When we got the new boxes, I've build my own castle around my desk. :)
Malcolm had a BBQ on Friday which was fun as everybody met new people. On Saturday we went to the Railway Club. Nice and comfortable, but not too exciting.
Sabine, Doris, Ute and me rented a powerboat on Sunday. This was way more exciting. :) We rented it only for an hour, but it was really cool. Although between all those big massive oil-tankers it is rather frightening - if you get too close which you really want to avoid...
Yeah, just check out the photos: CA05 (Oh, and yes, my hair is black.)

Wow.
I am just back from the Uts'am / Witness 2003 camping trip. It was awesome. Amazing nature and great people.
On Saturday morning, we went with the Roundhouse Community to Sims Creek and camped on a sandbank surrouned by 3000+ m high mountains. We were very lucky with the weather, as it was 35 degrees and we had a pure blue sky.
It is amazing that this stunning nature is a short 4 - 5 hour drive north of Vancouver. A beautiful place.
Take a look at the plenty of photos that I took.

Yay to wireless Internet access! :-)
I was working yesterday evening from my garden. That day it was about 30 degrees and it was just a beautiful evening.
Today Sean had an interview with CBC at Kits Beach. This is the first beach where we provide Fatport access. It is really nice down here - I am still at the beach. :-)
Malcolm will be on CityTV in about an hour.
Photos can be found in the gallery.
I like it. :-)
